Title HUD’s New Initiative to Reduce Lead Exposure Risks
Introduction EMSL Analytical, Inc. supports safer housing through lead testing and hazard identification solutions.

Cinnaminson, New Jersey, March 27, 2026

The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) recently announced more than $4.4 million in Lead Hazard Reduction Capacity Building grants to help communities address lead exposure risks in housing across the country.

HUD’s initiative is designed to strengthen local capacity to identify, control, and eliminate lead-based paint hazards in privately owned rental and owner-occupied housing. These efforts are especially critical for protecting young children, pregnant women, and other vulnerable populations from the serious and irreversible health effects of lead exposure, including developmental and neurological damage.

“Lead remains a significant concern in many older homes and buildings, making accurate testing and proper hazard controls essential to public health protection,” said Joe Frasca, Senior Vice President, Marketing at EMSL Analytical, Inc. “EMSL Analytical shares HUD’s commitment to safer housing and healthier communities and plays an important role in supporting lead hazard reduction efforts nationwide.”

EMSL Analytical supports lead hazard reduction efforts by providing a comprehensive range of testing services and safety solutions to help identify and manage lead hazards in residential, commercial, and public buildings, including:
