Title Resources to Protect Public Health with Advanced PAH Testing Services
Introduction EMSL Analytical offers laboratory solutions for identifying and mitigating exposure to polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons and other hazardous chemicals.

Cinnaminson, New Jersey, July 1, 2026

Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) are a group of chemicals widely recognized for their potential health hazards. Commonly produced during the incomplete combustion of organic materials, these compounds can pose risks in both occupational and residential environments.

PAHs are frequently found in soot, smoke, asphalt, coal tar, and contaminated soil. Human exposure can occur through inhalation, ingestion, or skin contact and has been linked to serious health concerns, including respiratory issues and an increased risk of cancer. The International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) classifies several PAHs as probable or possible human carcinogens.

To help protect against these exposure concerns, EMSL Analytical Inc. provides advanced laboratory testing services designed to detect PAHs in environmental and material samples. Utilizing sophisticated instrumentation and validated analytical methods, EMSL delivers precise, reliable data to support environmental assessments, industrial hygiene evaluations, and regulatory compliance.

“Empowering clients with the data they need to make informed decisions about environmental, health, and safety issues is what we do,” said Joe Frasca, Senior Vice President of Marketing at EMSL Analytical, Inc. “Through accurate PAH testing, we can identify contamination sources. In addition to laboratory analysis, EMSL offers sampling supplies and technical expertise to help ensure proper sample collection and accurate interpretation of results.”

Whether addressing contamination from wildfires, industrial activities, or legacy pollutants, EMSL Analytical remains committed to delivering results that support healthier indoor and outdoor environments.
